04 April 2014 – Please

04 April 2014

Please
Will Carson

I never knew that I could feel this way, I’ve never felt such joy
Your love came around like a summer rain, and cleaned a broken boy
In the stillness of your silent gaze, I found my life again
Your love came down like a hurricane, and I turned into the wind

Will you please wait for me, I”ll be true to hold your place
Just to brush your bangs away my dear, and see tomorrow on your face

Saw you waving from the port side rail, on your way to a distant land
My heart was torn like a ticket stub, I couldn’t wait to hold your hand
Why does love live on a thorny trail, where most men fear to tread
When the light goes on and the fear is gone, I regret the words not said

Will you please wait for me, I”ll be true to hold your place
Just to brush your bangs away my dear, and see tomorrow on your face

You said you see the stars and time, lining up to keep us bound
So don’t go and give your heart away to a foreign, tempting sound
I watched you drift toward the setting sun, as the light began to fade
I will wait for you, until the voyage is done, and all the scenes are played

Will you please wait for me, I”ll be true to hold your place
Just to brush your bangs away my dear, and see tomorrow on your face

03 April 2014 – On the Wood

He is risen!

03 April 2014

On the Wood

Will Carson

Am-g-d-am / g-d-am-em

Raindrops fall like petals, against his thorn-laced brow
On his knees in the upper room, before his disciples bowed
Their feet clean, his bare and bloodied, and muddied now
He’s wrapped in cloth again, the beginning and the end
The thunder roars, the lightning cracks, the curtain begins to shred

So thirsty, back in the desert, surveying the devil’s claim
Shoulders sag underneath the weight of humanity’s blame
Parched on the inside but skin shivering in the rain
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me
Inside the holy of holies, the curtain begins to crease

His blood pours down and mingles with the water on the ground
His breathing is labored, and torment swirls all around
He healed others, many cry, let him release from the wood unbound
His blood pools at the knees of his mother and her new son kneeling there
One sinner says “remember me” and the curtain begins to tear

Now there’s only darkness and silence in his heart
Soon will come the soldiers and a spear his ribs will part
But in the glory of that moment, the curse of man departs
See how His father has turned away, and all his followers too
It is finished cries the Son of Man and the curtain is torn in two

02 April 2014 – Moss on the Moon

Moss on the Moon

Will Carson

Sitting around the bonfire, watching the embers fly
Pin lights pierce the darkness, against the navy sky
Moonlight like a flashlight shines across the trees
Contemplating life on Mars and other galaxies

Drink, drink down the satellites (float, float, float into the night)
Bring, bring home the southern cross (float, float, float into the night)
Drink, drink down the satellites (float, float, float into the night)
Check the stars for signs of moss

Thundering through the heavens, the horsemen turn on high
Flaming swords precede the angels on this earthbound ride
Pestilence like raindrops fall on chosen lots
And Michael hovers in the sky and wraps the moon in moss

Drink, drink down the satellites (float, float, float into the night)
Bring, bring home the southern cross (float, float, float into the night)
Drink, drink down the satellites (float, float, float into the night)
Check the stars for signs of moss

The lake of fire ignites in flames for the devil and his crew
The stricken stumble through the prophecy so many never knew
The moss falls off, the moon turns red as stars fall from the sky
The Son of Man has cracked the night and the earth is left to cry

Drink, drink down the satellites (float, float, float into the night)
Bring, bring home the southern cross (float, float, float into the night)
Drink, drink down the satellites (float, float, float into the night)
Check the stars for signs of moss
Sing, sing sing unto the Lord
Raise, raise raise your voices high
Sing, sing sing unto the Lord
and let your praises fill the sky

01 April 2014 – Nobody Knows

01 April 2014

Nobody Knows

Will Carson/Pete Crossland

Nobody knows, the beauty I’ve seen. Falling from heaven, a constant light beam. White fire and radiance, horsemen in flight. A sword for a tongue, armed with power and might. He comes like lighting, to conquer the earth. So far from the manger, and the star of his birth. Yet his beauty I have seen.

Nobody knows, the beauty I’ve seen. Taking the stones, forgiving the sin. No one condemns you, then neither do I. Go and sin no more, take your eye for an eye. I sat in wonder, on a tattered park bench. I asked him to come to me, and sit on my fence. I didn’t know the wisdom, of calling him out. But to my amazement, he came around. He reached out and touched my face.

Nobody knows, the beauty I’ve seen. Walking with the spirit, encased in a dream. White Doves surrendered, long after dark. Studying by candle light, his Word bold and stark. He comes like lighting, to conquer the earth. So far from the manger, and the star of his birth. Yet his beauty I have seen.

I sat in wonder, on a tattered park bench. I asked him to come to me, and break my defense. I know the wisdom, of falling at his feet. I know the feeling, of trust that’s complete. For I have seen the face of God.

Maybe

Will Carson

The passion for a time gone by, breaks myself on stones of now. A charging wave to soon withdraw, it will come again with the rising tide. Of anger at an open door, not quite reached before it closed. Forever gone she turned her head to more receptive scenes (poem by Jonas Zoller).

You run through knee high grass, joyously to me
the sun is in my face and I can hardly see
The sun’s behind your head, there’s a golden glow
I feel the warmth of you, sliding through my soul

And as you hold me tight, I can barely breath
I hear you laugh so free, I want to leave
Your eyes are confidence, your voice is lean
your palms speak to the truth, of the clouds you’ve seen

The sky is crystal clear, as we sit down
making broken silhouettes, upon the ground
I’ve forgotten yesterday, before we were
riding the horizon of our future

The sun is merciless, it burns our backs
the smile upon your face, soon melts like wax
The flies they bother you, tears are in your eyes
I feel a trace of rain, goodbye blue skies

You say you need me so, what can I say
I’ll say that I need you too, but will you stay
You took my words away, I am overcome
My blood runs cold and clear, my body’s numb

I don’t know what’s wrong with me, so please don’t stare
I guess I found the golden ring, isn’t really there
We’ll meet again tomorrow, at this same time
maybe then we can talk about, what’s really on our minds

03 March 2014 – Lay It Down

Featuring Mary Hrovat

03 March 2014

Lay it Down

Will Carson

Lay it down at the altar, lay it down at his feet, lay it down and make your burden light.  Let the river of sin subside, let the Lord turn your scarlet white.  Lay it down at the altar, lay it down

He said come, when you’re weary, take the narrow road.  Put on His yoke, light and easy, and stillness you will know.  Peace He brings, in the morning, let the Daystar shine.  Then surrender at the alter, and on his mercy dine.

So tomorrow, when you’re tempted let Him take you higher.  Cast your sorrow, latent refuse, into the lake of fire.  Don’t be anxious for the future let your spirit soar.  Then surrender at the altar for now and evermore.
